Services - Energy Management

Energy management is a specialty of Facilitease, whereby we can advise on all aspects of saving energy and money while becoming more environmentally friendly. We do this by introducing new technologies and implementing energy saving techniques. Companies with an energy spend of over £50 000 p.a. are eligible for a free energy survey funded by The Carbon Trust. Facilitease can apply for this free audit on your behalf and advise on ways of reducing your energy spends. Often our recommendations are low or no cost solutions and implementing these solutions may save you thousands of pounds per year.

The Climate Change Levy came into effect on 1st April 2001 and applies to energy used in the commercial sector. The aim of the levy is to encourage businesses to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases by providing tax relief and often rebates of up to 80%. Facilitease can advise best practice techniques for reducing and saving energy, and can apply for Climate Change Levy relief on your behalf.

Enhanced Capital Allowances enable a business to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying, energy saving plant and machinery. Facilitease can demonstrate where projects total costs may be offset against tax within the first year. We can also help you qualify for interest free loans on all energy saving projects funded by the Carbon Trust with loans from £5000 – £100 000.

Benchmarking allows you to compare the energy performance of similar facilities or an established level of performance. It is a useful activity in energy management because it can be used to develop relative measures of energy performance, track change over time, and identify best energy management practices.
